In 1987, we purchased a complete set of technology, equipment, molds, and special silicone rubber raw materials for silicone rubber pre-molded power cable accessories through an agreement with Siemens in Germany. Including indoor/outdoor termination, cable joint of 10kV, 20kV and 35kV. In January of 1990, we designed and manufactured the first national silicone rubber power cable termination and joint. Since then, series of silicone rubber power cable termination and joint of 35kV and below have been put into mass production and ran on the grid.
At the beginning of 2000, pre-expanded cold shrinkable cable accessories was developed on the basis of existing technical accumulation. This product is shrinkable, easy and convenient to install, along with stable electric field stress control on silicone rubber cable accessories. It soon occupied the market after approval by State Grid.
The heat shrinkable material technology originated from Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Science. In the 1960s, researchers successfully developed this polymer memory material and applied it to China's aerospace engineering. In the 1980s, researchers successfully applied this product to industries such as electric power, communication, petroleum, and chemical industry. Our heat shrinkable power cable accessories have been used in China's power grid since then and started to go all over the world.
