From Siemens 1987
In 1987, we introduced technology, equipments and molds of pre-molded cable accessories from Siemens, and top-quality raw materials from Wacker Germany, which laid solid foundation for continuous innovation and technology upgrades of our products to advance level in global market.
We were authorized using RXS trademark since our cooperation with Siemens till today. For many years RXS has been active in the field of accessories for power and telecommunication cables. Wherever cables are joined, branched, or terminated, RXS is a competent partner. RXS products are applicable in fiber optic, copper and coaxial cable networks for the transmission of voice, data and images, as well as for power transmission in low and medium voltage cable networks.

Chief Engineer Chunling Wu and Deputy General Manager Yuchun Lu took part in the conference and revision of standard.

Since our company’s foundation, we established cooperation with advance research institutes in China, such as Shanghai Cable Research Institute, and Wuhan High Voltage Research Institute. We also cooperated with researchers from China’s highest ranking universities, such as Xi'an Jiaotong University and South China University of Technology, where gather the most talented researchers in China and develop cutting-edge technologies each year!

Our own materials physics & chemistry laboratory, 500 EHV laboratory and 110kV high voltage laboratory, as well as experienced electrical engineers bring us sufficient ability to test and ensure each product delivered to our customers with superior quality.
Our 500EHV laboratory was accredited as national high-voltage metering station, with the capability of type testing cable accessories up to 500kV. Engineers from KEMA Netherlands gathered here and witnessed the type test of 132kV terminations and joints in 2018.

The requirements of China's electrification railway, dramatic differences on climate and other natural conditions in different sections of railway encouraged us to develop reliable, high-performance solutions for railway power supply systems.
In 2008, we were invited by China Railway Electrification Survey Design & Research Institute Co.Ltd. and China Railway Electrification Engineering Group Co., Ltd to jointly formulate the first national standard of electrification railway. We fully took part in the whole process of standard formulation in next four years, improved our plans repeatedly in response to questions, new discoveries in technological verification and advices from society.

To overcome challenges on formulating the Standard of China’s electrification railway, we provided our own solutions to technical difficulties with our professional and experienced engineer team. We also seek cooperation among scientific institutions from all around China and made new technology breakthrough by cooperating with domestic researchers, initiated researches and development of specialized cable accessories for electrification railway system in China.

We supplied all the cable accessories for Wuhan-Guangzhou High-speed Railway, the first self-designed and manufactured high speed railway in China, which started construction in 2005. It has operated stably ever since trains on this railroad reaching a speed of 300km/hr.
Our experience obtained from the practical application benefits the formulation of China's electrification railway standards and mass production for similar products in China.

Based on the experience of Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway, we improved our products and successfully applied them to Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway, the second high-speed railway line in China, which started construction on April 18, 2008, and started operating on June 30, 2011, with an initial operating speed 300 km/h.

Our products were also applied in Harbin-Dalian High-speed Railway. Through combining our application experience and national standard of electrification railway cable accessories, we have indisputable leading advantage on experience in the field of 27.5kV single-phase AC XLPE cable and accessories for electrification railway in China.

Customization

In 2012, a European customer enquired us for developing a new kind of unscreened plug which could match a specific switchgear design.
We communicated with customer to thoroughly understand their specific requirement, such as the application environment and power distribution system electrical parameter.
Our customer required a kind of 12/20(24) kV unscreened plug, which need to be in small size and saves space for the switchgear cabinet design. It should be able to expand into multiple circuits, fulfill in required cable structural or cross-sectional area and matching required type of mechanical(bolt shear off)lugs.
Besides the specific technical requirements, we were also required to provide products and solutions which matching our customer’s application habits. They need to be testable with our customers’ present electrical-testing devices, and being safe and convenient to operate with our customers’ electrical-testing methods.  At last, they need to fulfill our customer’s installment habits, and customize for the installation environment.

We provided various advices and solution plans for our customers, and kept improving our design based on further requirements and new adjustments from communication with customer.
Eventually, we provided a brand new design that could be used with 12/20(24) kV aluminum round solid cable, and applicable for both copper and aluminum cables with a maximize cross section area of 630mm2. It could be matched with customer-chosen mechanical (bolt shear off) lug, fulfilled in the minimize dimension of the switchgear cable cabinet and all of power distribution system electrical parameters.

Improvement 1

 


In 2018, we took part in a bidding on T-connector and Surge Arrester, submitted the product drawing which is shown in picture below with our bidding document as required. The final length of assembled product is 307mm.

Following the technical review by the utility and the subsequent commercial review, we won the bid.


 


However, the utility provided further requirement during the execution of order: the depth of cable cabinet is 300mm, which means the maximize dimension of our assembled T-connector and Surge Arrester product shall be no more than it. We need to modify our product to fulfill this requirement.


 


After acknowledging the modification of requirement, we immediately started improving our product design and production process. We eventually fulfill the utility’s new standard by shortening our assembled products to the total length of 296mm.


 


Then we processed our product installation inspection and electrical inspection. The final length of assembled products is 296±0.3mm, and its properties totally fulfill IEC 60502-4 requirements.


     

 


At last, we sent our products to third party testing agency with ISO/IEC 17025 standard certification and process the testing according to IEC 60502-4 requirements, and successfully past the testing.

In recent years, we are receiving more and more requirements from our customers of using mechanical lugs instead of compression lugs in their order of separable connector. Besides, the increasing cross section area of cables also led to a challenge to our previous products’ sphere of application.

As a result, we improved our products through choosing proper lug suppliers, processing product selection, carrying on various professional tests and keep innovating new molds. Now our separable connector products could be applied within following range of situation:

When using mechanical lugs, our products are applicable on both copper and aluminium cables which cross section areas are up to 630 millimeter square.

When using compression lugs, our products are applicable on both copper and aluminium cables which cross section areas are up to 800 millimeter square.
