Busbar Insulation Connection Covers
Electrical engineers sometimes are puzzled with short circuit caused by small animals, failure arising from unexpected objects such as the branches. When we protect the energized conductors by tubing, tape and covers, we will greatly avoid most of the common accident arising from small animals and trouble of foreign objects, to prevent the system from outage or breakdown. Shapes of the bus bar connection in the substation are various. Electrical stress concentration leads to flashover due to the complicated shapes and sometimes the confined spaces. The electrical connection cover is designed for easy installation with push-fit latches. Temperature evaluation of the covered hardware can be done from surface of the covers which are designed to prevent animal-caused power outages on bushings ranging from 15-42kV. In substations of old design, maintenance worker may face dangers and accident may happen because of no insulation protection of the bus-bar outside or inside the switchgear. Using heat shrinkable tubing, tape and covers to insulate the main bus-bar and its branches including the connections can effectively eliminate potential risks. | ||||
