Bus Insulation Tape
Heat shrinkable composite tape has two layers: heat shrinkable material coated with hot melt adhesive. When it is heated the heat shrinkable layer shrinks and inner layer of the adhesive melts, thus the conductor is well wrapped around and sealed. It was used when the clearance between the phases is minor and flashover frequently took place and difficult to provide sufficient insulation protection. The dual layer structure of insulation/hot melt adhesive provides effective electric insulation and shock protection, and widely used to protect irregular shape of bus bar or connectors where tube not applicable. |
In 2010 engineers are installing the heat shrinkable tape onto the bus without free end. Such tape is suitable for indoor and outdoor use with anti-tracking performance and UV resistance. Operating temp rating up to 105 °C |
